On the left toolbar, click on 'Edit Alternates' under the 'Question tools'. At the bottom of the page, under 'Add new alternate wordings', type in the question reworded.
Also, alternate wordings are created by saying a question is the same as another when asking a new question.
Alternate wordings enable a question to be found. When you ask a question with the Ask bar at the top of this page, using the exact wording of a question or any of its alternates will send you directly to the question page. For example, "Why is it important to add alternative wordings to questions?" is an alternate of this question. If you anyone asks that, they'll find this page immediately. Also, the keywords inalternate wordingshave just as much value as the keywords in the primary wording of the question. Therefore, if someone searches for "alternative wordings" they're just as likely to find this question as if they searched for "alternate wordings."
If you click on the toolbar on the menu which says edit alternate wordings, you can change the alternates and add more.
If a question is redirected to "What questions add no value to WikiAnswers?", then it became an alternate to that question because it added no value. Questions like "Purple blue yellow ice cream?" will be merged into "What questions add no value to WikiAnswers?" because, as the question states, they do not add any value to the site.
No, there is currently no way to directly move an alternate to the Related Questions section of the answer. If the alternate is not the same as the question (just another way to word it), please split it off and then add it as a Related Question if necessary.
This was done to reduce the amount of alternates being incorrectly added to questions as well as reduce the amount of badly spelled or grammatically incorrect alternates. You can still add an alternate to a question by clicking 'edit alternates' and filling in the information to add an alternate found at the bottom of the page.
You can in answers, but not in questions.
Go to the alternate you want to add to the second tier and click add to bad spelling tier. The second tier will appear when you tell it to go there. If you are a Supervisor, click the alternate, or alternates, you want to move and click the orange button at the top saying 'move to bad spelling tier'.
Send it to a supervisor. He would be able to revert the wrong answer and add it as an alternate to the correct answer.
Anti-Contributing to WikiAnswersTo add an alternate to a question without counting it as a contribution point, then ask a question on WikiAnswers. Before you officially submit the question, you can edit it. After you edit and submit it, your pre-edited question will be one of its alternates.
"Add no value" is a shortcut for this question. Please do not delete it from the list of alternates. WikiAnswers is designed to provide serious answers to serious questions. We do have a section for jokes and riddles; however, we will not use up space with questions that add no value. A poor question is one that has no useful content or is designed to waste time. If you believe your question is a legitimate one please contact a supervisor for assistance. A listing is available at http://wiki.answers.com/Q/WikiFAQs:Supervisors Note to supervisors: -- This is a catch-all question. Neither it nor its alternate wordings should be deleted. -- See the related question below for info about catch-all questions.
There are a lot of ways to earn more contributions on WikiAnswers. To name a few: Flag questions Unflag questions Split alternates Edit questions Edit answers Answer questions Ask questions Add related links Remove related links Add related questions Re-categorize questions Discuss questions.
When WikiAnswers says you can ask anything, it is assumed you would ask a legitimate question which has a legitimate answer. Questions that are merged into "What questions add no value" are generally questions that are of no value to other people or simply make no sense.
