On your profile choose Following. On the black top bar, top right, click the small white pencil. That opens the categories. Click categories, then Next which opens the Expert Statement boxes. Type expert qualifications. Save after typing in the statements.
you can go to the dashboard and add all expertise on the profile.
After you choose which categories you're an Expert in on your profile, the Answers staff will review your Expert statement, and make you an Expert in the categories for which you qualify. If you aren't sure, please message a Community Assistant, such as myself.

You can choose your categories on the home page when you register, but if you are already registered we have a link coming. If you would like to start helping people right away you can email me at Ganderton@wikianswers.com and I will set you up as category expert if you are qualified. Provide the names of the categories you want, and a short statement about what makes you an expert.
A person can become an Expert contributor in Wikianswers by asking and answering a lot of questions.
To see what subjects you are an expert in, simply access the expert box categories. There will be either an asterisk next to the categories or they will be listed in alphabetical order.

Normally it just shows that you follow the category, but if you went in and selected it as your expert category and added an expert statement all you need to do is access your profile, then go to the following tab, then click to edit the list, you can then deselect the category you chose earlier.
To become an expert on answers you first must be a member. Once you are a member you will be asked to select a bunch of categories to follow. Once you do you will be asked if you are an expert in any of those and why. After filing it out you may be contacted to become an expert.
Expert opinion can be defined as the statement from a specialist on a specific subject.
