There is a plate on the back of the mower, the top of this plate is right under the gas tank.
There are 4 9/16th bolts - 2 on each side. Remove theses.
The plate will side off, it may take a little snug to remove it, but it will slip off.
Once the plate is removed there is a rubber tube with a plastic insert in it ( on top).
This is where the transmission oil is added.
The oil to use is a 20/50 wt..
If you clean this area you can remove the rubber hose. Once the hose is removed.
There is a white plastic plug that is screwed into the transmission at the bottom of the hose.
If You remove this plug, the oil will go into the transmission easier.
If you mean transmission oil, you don't add any. The transmission is sealed, it never needs oil.
There is normally a plug on the upper side of the transmission under the vehicle. That is where you add oil. Add oil until it runs out. It is then full.
On manual transmission until oil flows out of full level hole. on most manual transmission the refill hole is the oil level. On automatic transmission if no oil shows on dipstick add a quart at a time.
You shouldn't have to.
To add tranny fluid, you remove thr transmission oil dip stick, and use your newly bought transmission oil funnel which will fit into the transmission oil dipstick tube and add oil, little at a time is best, dont over fill, if the oil shows on the stick at the add line, checking it hot and in park running, you probably only need about a half a quart.
Add automatic transmission fluid through the dip stick tube. No kidding!
You add fluid the same place you check the fluid level.
Remove the clutch cover or the primary chain inspection cover and add the transmission oil there.
