How do you add transmission fluid to a manual transmission 1999 Chevy S-10?

I just had to do this. You take both plugs out of the side of the gear box and I removed the yoke from the gear box as well. Yoke= (the internal piece of the drive shaft, j.i.c.) drain it all and then put the yoke and the bottom plug back in. keep the top plug off and get your syncomesh, or syncromax, which is what I went with. A got a tip to heat up the fluid, which I did in a pot of water on the stove for a little while, so it flows better. You have to buy a small pump that screws into the top of the gear oil jug. It looks alot like the kinda pump that is on top of a soap dispenser. I bought one at pepboys for like 7 bucks. They should be right by the gear oil display. Either way.... MAKE SURE YOU HEAT UP THE GEAR OIL A LITTLE. Screw the pump on, put the tube into the top hoel in the gear box and start pumping. I have a 97s10 ex cab 5 speed and it took 2.2 bottles or so... put the plug back in and rectify...
