I belive that there is no adjustment on the serp belt on your lumina. Should be a spring loaded tensioner. If you are having problems with the belt slipping you most likely need to replace the belt/ tenssioner.

usually serpentine belts get their tension(tightness) from the belt tensioner
on most cars it in the front at the bottom of the by the crank pully
The main pulley on which the serpentine belt goes on in a 1997 Chevy Lumina LTZ is the crankshaft pulley. The crankshaft pulley plays a role in the wheels turning and powering the alternator and power steering pump.
The Chevrolet Lumina speed sensor can be found on the back of the transmission. The exact position of the speed sensor is dependent upon the year of the automobile.
The alternator on a 95 Chevy Lumina 3.4l is replaced by disconnecting the wiring harness, loosening the retaining bolts, and removing the serpentine belt. The alternator can then be unbolted, removed, and a new alternator installed.
Any place that sells batteries can tell you the correct size battery. The AC/Delco battery is one of the best.
