Linkage is on the drivers side of trany (about under drivers seat area). May not be adjustable, but if it is then look there for a adjustment rod
How to adjust the linkage on cable from steering column to transmission on a 1995 GMC Van?
The clutch on a 2155 can be adjusted through the linkage. By loosening and shifting it in one direction, the position of the clutch and its tension can be changed.
Which linkage.
The adjustments are pretty obvious on the the top of the transmission under the air intake and exhaust plumbing.

Located on the carb look at your throttle linkage. Under the throttle linkage but on the same plate you will see another rod that runs down behind the engine. This rod also is used for your passing gear and runs down to the trans. You need to adjust the travel on this rod. If it is shifting late adjust it longer I belive. Try it and if not go the other way. Good Luck!!
there is a set screw on the linkage on the carb that will adjust it.
Ford stopped manufacturing the Falcon in 1970.
Thats fairly easy to do. First block the wheels so the vehicle will not roll. Put the transmission into neutral. Go under the car and on the drivers side of the transmission pan you will see the linkage. Remove the pin holding the linkage to the transmission. The linkage should slide in and out of the transmission shift bracket easily. If not loosen the nut on the linkage and adjust it until the linkage slides in and out without binding.
