You can not adjust the tone of the factory horn. You must replace the horn to get a different sound.
It's so that the player can adjust tone and tuning by placing his/her hand in the bell.
There are two (2) horns behind front bumper. I believe that right side is high tone and left side is low tone.
High tone under bumper on driver side...low tone under bumper on passenger side...front bumper.
Which one, the high tone or low tone?
Slide it in or out to adjust the tone quality, also adjust the position of your flute.
This may or may not help. I had to change the horn on a 2003 Alero, I found it behind the passenger side headlight. The headlight easily poped out after lifting two clips. The horn was in two pieces, a high tone horn and a low tone horn and was very easily replaced. Good Luck!
The Taurus' and larger Fords have a traditional "two-tone" horn - a higher frequency tone combined with a harmonic lower frequency tone. I believe the smaller vehicles have only a single tone horn (might be why they sound rather wimpy)
No. Its a single tone brass instruments
Under the right headlight, there is 2, one for high tone, one for low tone.
The horns are under the passenger side of the front bumper. There is a Hi and Lo tone horn.
There are 2 horns, a high tone and a low tone, they are located inside/behind the front bumper.
The horn(s) on a 1991 Pontiac Firebird are inside the left front (driver side) fender, behind the headlight, in front of the wheel well next to the vacuum canister. There are two horn assemblies, one has the "A" tone, and the other has the "F" tone. One bolt holds each horn assembly to the inside of the fenders super-structure, and there is one (common) green wire that connects to each horn.
