there is a way by tightening throttle cable or screw by throttle body ( but i would check o2 sensors first)
There is not a gear in the engine, they do have a speed limiter in the computer. Also some older automatic transmissions have a "governor" to adjust shift points.

If the vehicle has the 4 cylinder engine it has a 125C 3 speed automatic transaxle. If the vehicle has the V6 it can have the 125C 3 speed automatic transaxle or the optional 440T4 Automatic Overdrive transmission.
