The 2.5 liter four cylinder engine in a 1997 Jeep Wrangler has a timing CHAIN
That requires a OBDII engine scanner. You can not use a timing light. The timing is computer controlled.
YOU can if you have an engine scanner. if you have not fooled with the distributor then there is no need to adjust the timing because it is controlled by the ECM / computer. It will adjust it's self.
you can not as it is adjusted by the computor.
You dont. It is hydraulic. Cannot be adjusted.
WITH A BIG HAMMER
On the newer cars like the Jetta there is no timing adjustment as it is set on the fly y the engine computer in accordance with sensor inputs.
yes
The 3.3L engine has a timing chain.
No-there is one belt tensioner for the entire engine belt assembly. The timing belt is a serpentine belt and if it is stretched out, it will need to be replaced. There is no way to adjust the timing belt once it is put on the vehicle.
In a 1997 Ford Thunderbird the 3.8 liter V6 engine has a timing CHAIN
Answer this question… You can adjust ignition timing on your Jeep Wrangler by rotating the distributor a few degrees. This procedure is possible on the 4.2L engine model only though. On 2.5L and 4.0L models, the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls ignition timing. Before starting, make sure you have the correct timing degree and RPMs at idle specified by the vehicle manufacturer. This information is located on the Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) label inside the engine compartment.
