Check eBay for the plastic linkage bushings. They are not available from the Ford dealers.
Remove the wiring harness from the wiper motor. Remove the wiper arm linkage. Remove the wiper motor retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new wiper motor.
* Remove the windshield wiper arms * Remove the cowl cover * Disconnect the electrical connectorr from the wiper motor * Detach the wiper motor/linkage assembly from the cowl * Remove the wiper motor retaining bolts and remove the motor
You must remove the wipers, cowling, wiper motor and linkage assembly. Then you will remove the power steering lines, connectors and tie rod ends. Next, remove the bolts holding the rack to the body of the car, then remove it through the hole where the wiper motor and linkage assembly was located.
You should be able to buy the linkage bushing from any auto parts store like AutoZone, O'Riely's or Pep-boys. If they do not have it in stock, they can probably order it for you. You could also buy it online.
You must first remove the wiper arms. then, remove the screws holding the black plastic grill under the wiper arms. This will expose the motor. You will then need to disconnect the wiper arm transmission linkage from the motor, the remove the three bolts holding the motor on. Install in reverse order.
You probably have a break in the linkage. The motor turns the linkage that makes the wipers move. The linkage is connected by plastic caps over a ball joint. These can separate. You can buy new generic plastic caps to try and replace from parts stores. It works sometimes. New linkage from GM isa one part and replaces all linkage and joints. Close to $200.
