Ideally have the names in the first column of your data. Then select the column that has the names in it and the other columns. The active cell should be in the first column. Then go up to "Data" on the toolbar or the Sort and Filter options. You can select to sort alphabetically. If the Names are not in the first column you can use the Advanced sort option and choose it as the column you want to sort on when all of the columns of data are selected.
Alphabetize them on separate shelves (like a library). Type up a list on your computer that is searchable--like on Excel. Include the Artist and the album name in separate columns. You could also add a column describing its type: rock, country, etc.
That depends on the nature of the text and what way you want it to be in columns. If it is just a large block of text that you want into newspaper-styled columns, then word processors and desktop publishers have the facility to do that. If you want text that is data, like names and addresses etc. and you want to break the data up so that all the names are in a column and the addresses are in columns, then you do something different. You separate the components on a line with commas and put each new set of data on a new line. Then it can be imported into a database or spreadsheet and the data will be split into columns based where the commas are.

No. It joins data within a cell.
No, you can sort multiple columns or rows if you hightlight a range, but all columns or rows will need to be sorted with the same criteria (e.g. lowest to highest). You can sort an entire row by clicking on the row number at the left of the screen, then sort, as desired. You also can do the same for columns by clicking on the column letter at the top of the screen.
Columns in caves are tall, cylindrical formations that are created when stalactites from the ceiling and stalagmites from the floor meet and fuse together. They can grow over thousands of years as mineral deposits accumulate in caves. Columns are common features in caves with significant limestone formations.
When two or more rows share the same number of columns, and when their corresponding columns share the same (or compatible) domains, they are said to be union-compatible.
