Say something about a good match between the listed job requirements and your qualifications, your interests, your special skills, your education, or your goals.

What makes you think this is a job you should apply for? If the answer is "because I think it's a job I can get," don't say it like that. Say it's because you think you're well qualified, or because your experience makes you well suited for the position, or because you feel that you will be able to perform the work very well--you think you will be good at it (and say why).

For example, if the job is counter person at Starbuck's, you might say that you are sure you can quickly learn to fill orders, and you would enjoy greeting the public with a smile. If the job is as an assembly worker, you might say that you are quick and good with your hands. If the job is as a hospital assistant, you might say that you are an efficient worker who can follow instructions and you would like to help make patients comfortable.

Of course, whatever you say should be true, or you should not be applying for that position. The point is to emphasize the specific characteristics and abilities you have that make you think you would do a good job.

The right answer is not "because I need a job."
