First make sure that the concrete is thick enough to attach a beam to. It should have a footing where you plan to install the beam. In your local hardware store there is a specific metal object that is used. I can't think of the name but basically the metal object sits on the concrete and looks like a large square cup that is sized for your beam and sits maybe 6" off the ground. The metal object is then attached to the concrete with special screws or nails that are inserted into holes that are drilled with a hammer drill and masonry bits. Once the metal mount is attached to the concrete, insert and level the beam and on each side of the "cup" there are spaces for nails or screws to attach the beam to the concrete.

How to Install an Aluminum Fence?
Aluminum fences are sturdy yard fences that often aren’t as difficult to install as chain link fences or wooden stockade fences. This article will show you how to install one in a series of easy to follow steps. oLay out the fence line. This is essentially done by measuring from some reference point (such as your house) with a tape measure and marking the corners and post locations with stakes or markers of some sort. The post locations will be determined by the length of the fence sections. When you have the partial rectangle (or whatever shape) that your fence will describe, you can check it for square by measuring corner to corner. If your fence is square (i.e. corners are 90 degree angles), these diagonals will be the same. Make adjustments as necessary. oDig post holes at the post locations. They should be around 24 inches deep and 18 inches in diameter. To test that the holes are the right width apart take one of the fence sections and lay it next to the holes, checking for correct distance. oSet the posts in the holes. Do this by first mixing some post hole (or any ordinary) cement, putting a small amount in the bottom of the hole, and then setting the post into it. oThen add the cement around the post, filling the hole up until it is a few inches from the top, and stabilizing the post in the cement. Use of carpenter’s level here to check that the post is plumb and level. Slope the concrete up to the post a little at the top for better water runoff. You will fill the remaining space with dirt when the cement is dry. oGo back to the posts and recheck them for plumb and level. It is important that the concrete dries with them standing as straight up and down as possible. oWhen the cement is dry, install the fence sections. With aluminum fences, there will be nuts and bolts that come with the fence that you will use to attach to the posts. oFinally, install the fence gates. How to Install a Fence?
The first thing that must be done when installing an aluminum fence is to make sure that the area is ready for the fence posts. There may be a fence permit required in order to install a fence around the home. The place to find out this information at is the municipalities building code office. They will also let the person know if there are any setback rules, as well. After a person has figured out the rules and permits required to install an aluminum fence, they will need to call their various utility companies and set up a schedule to where a person from each of those companies can come out and mark where any underground wires or pipes may be. Once this is completed, it is time to start the installation process. The first posts that will be put into the ground are the corner and end posts. The stakes that are being driven into the ground must be longer than the fence will end up being. The stakes should be held up in the air, so that they are not touching the ground. Each cross in the string will mark where the corner posts will be installed at. Next, post holes should be dug 6 inches across and 2 feet deep, making sure that the holes do not slope at all. Around one and a half feet of these holes will be filled with concrete, setting the post into the ground afterward. After checking the post for straightness, pack dirt into the rest of the hole. Finally, it is time to install the line posts. String a line from corner to the corner and then take a tape measure and measure out 72 inches diagonally from one of the corner posts. Dig a hole at the spot, which is under the string. Continue to do this 72 in measuring until you come to a new corner. Keep up with the filling of concrete and dirt as was done before. The cement should be left to dry for at least a full day, but it may take two days depending on the weather.

How to Build a Wood Fence?
Although it is fairly easy to build a wood fence, you must have a plan set up to follow. There are thousands of possible designs for your fence, so you need to figure out which one you want most. You can find your favorite and save some time and money before you begin building. The first thing you need to decide on is where the fence will be placed. Choose the end and know that a post must go there. Then, choose where the line will run from there to an end spot. This will make sure that all of the posts are in a line. You can put a stake through the ground at each place you would like a post to go. Take your time on this to make sure that they are evenly spaced and in a straight line. Now, you can use a post hole digger to make the holes for the posts. You can not go down on an angle, it must be completely straight. It will have to be fairly deep because one third of the post will be in the ground. Place a large rock or some stones at the bottom of the holes and fill them with dirt or concrete. The posts can be held straight by stakes until the concrete is dry. Also, make sure there is a small mound of concrete around the post so water won’t sit there. You can then attach a rail to the top and bottom or the first post. This will be done by hammering them into their place, using a measuring stick to make sure they are lined up together. If you decided on a picket fence, the boards should be nailed at the front of the fence. Picket fences are meant more for outside people to see. If the simple fence is what you want, you attach all of the boards on one side of the rail. A more extraordinary way or doing it, is alternating them on both sides. No matter what fence design you choose, you should end you project by painting or staining your newly added wood fence.
