SCREENSAVER
To get a screensaver to show digital time on your computer do the following as below: -
- Take your mouse cursor to an empty area on your desktop and right click on the empty area.
- The display properties dialog will come up on which you click screensaver tab.
- Under the computer picture on the left you will see screensaver written. Below that there is a box in which your current screensaver is shown. It may also show "none" if no screensaver is set now.
- Click on the arrow next to it and select the screensaver named "3d text".
- Click the wait button to change the when your screensaver should start up and run if no computer activity is detected.
- Click the settings button and select "text' which you see on top left of another dialog that opens.
- Now you may select the size, resolution, rotation speed etc.
- In the surface style you can select a solid colour and put a tick mark in the small box called custon and select your favourite colour.
- You may select texture and also use your own picture file in bmp format as the texture if you want. Similarly you may set reflection and use a custom reflection of your choice which again must be a bmp picture file.
- Also keep a tick mark in the show specular highlights for enhancing the beauty of your screensaver when it shows current time.
- On the right side click the display settings button and disable hardware acceleration if you do not have a graphics card that supports 3D rendering. If you don't know then leave it as it is.
- Select display settings and use automatic mode or if you have a very slow computer then use 640 480 16 bit mode.
- Click OK button on both dialog and now you can click the preview button to watch your screensaver.
- Do not move mouse. If you move the mouse the screensaver will vanish and you have to press preview button again.
- Click OK button and you have finished configuring your screensaver. After the time you set if there is no activity on your computer then your screensaver will start.
