How do you ask a girl out who has an identical twin without the relationship being a little strange?

Walk up to her and be like 'Hey ________!' (insert name in blank) and if she's like, 'uh that's my sister' then you know you are asking the wrong girl.
And to keep it from being a little strange talk to her (if you guys are friends this should be pretty easy) and ask her what little quirks her and her sister have that help their parents tell them apart. Pay attention to their hair that day and what they are wearing. I knew a pair of identical twins and the way I told them apart was that ones eyes were closer together. You're gonna need to pay attention to the little details on this one.
It is very important that you can tell them apart. The girl that you like, if she has mutual feelings, will feel insulted if you mistaken her sister for her.
