If forearm is attached to barrels, remove by pulling forearm latch to the rear. Place the lugs of the barrels in the semicircular cuts on the receiver, pivot to closed position, replace forearm. An owner's manual is available for download from the Remington website. If you have taken the action apart, will suggest putting parts in a bag, and taking to a gunsmith. I can guarantee that yours will nto be the first "gun-in-a-bag" he had seen.
I don't see dbl in Remington, if you mean the dbl in general when when referring to a Remington firearm that's double as in double barrel shotgun, derringer, etc.
Some brands of the double barrel shot guns includes, Stoeger, Remington and Winchester. The price for the double barrel shot gun can range from over $1000, depending on the collection.
Steel or Damascus barrels?
Model 24 is a semi-auto 22.
Remington did not make a 44 cal double barrel pistol. The did however make a 41 cal (rimfire) the double derringer. (model 95) There's 3 type's, 5 models, and at least 15 variations some of which are quite valuable.

Depends on the model and condition. It can be worth nothing to several thousand.

Remingtons are dated not by serial number but by a 2 or 3 LETTER code stamped on the barrel- left side, about a half inch from the receiver. The Remington Collectors Association website has the chart to interpret the letters.
