Use an external hard drive, or USB Flash drive.
The main advantages of having an external CD burner is that it frees up space on the hard drive, as well as space in the casing. Burning is accomplished simply by plugging a syncronizing cord into a USB port from the external burner.
It really depends on how much stuff you need to back up. CDs can usually hold 800 MB (megabytes) of storage. Standard DVDs can hold 4.7 GB (4812.8 MB) of storage. Dual/Double Layer DVDs can hold 8.5 GB, and some of the new Blu-ray discs can hold up to 25 GB of storage. To back up your computer, you need a CD Burner or DVD Burner. I would recommend investing about $40 in a good DVD Burner and then backing up your most important data using normal or dual/double layer DVDs. However, if you really want to spend a lot of money backing up your PC and making it easy, you can buy external hard drives for a couple of hundred bucks that will hold 500 GB and make it really simple for backing up your computer.
Yes. DVD writers are capable of writing to ("burning") blank DVDs, and CDsas well. However, you cannot use a CD burner to burn a DVD, and in some cases read it.Here's the chain of command:Blu-ray burner - burns to Blu-raydiscs, DVDs and CDsDVD burner - Burns to DVDs and CDsCD burner - burns only to CDsHopefully that clears things up.
this will do ityou Insert the CD and then the CD should open up onto your computer, then you should right click on the icon that your program is and then select copy, return to the CD and right click and then select paste all information is then stored on there.
Back up your files to a CD or DVD at least once a week
No. It can be handy to back up the installer in case your computer crashes later on, though.
Make system back up on CD's or USB stick with reboot action included. Either split hard disc into two partitions and save important files in separate partition or save important files on CD (Scan with anti-virus and anti-malware programs on computer all and if needed clean the partition or CD on different computer). Format the computer. Insert system back up CD or USB and reboot. Once rebooted upload files that you have saved from CD or separate partition.
When a CD has been inserted and is not showing up in "My Computer", there is a possibility that the CD is faulty (has scratches or was poorly written). The CD Rom drive may also have read errors.
A back up would be making a few copies of the same documents on to a CD, memory stick and external hard drive. This is done so that if your computer breaks down or anything you have other copies to goo back on. These are especially useful if you need to restore your computer or have bought a new one.
nope.. gotta buy a blu ray burner... can be a burner for a computer or a separate burner that hooks up to your tv and blu ray player
it should detect the CD when you put it in, If not, your CPU is screwed up
It is possible that your CD burner is having problems transferring the data. You may need a new one. I know that you can pick up an external CD burner relatively cheaply, maybe 30 to 40 dollars on Amazon.
