Well first of all itunes is supposed to pop up.Second of all just connect your itouch to your computer/labtop and then click on itunes and it will just pop up on itunes and then you click on your itouch in the computer and edit the settings and wala it will work. ^^obviously not if the question states "if it isn't popping up when you connect the itouch"

You don't have to everday, but if you get something new on your itouch like an app then I would sync it so that it backs it up on your computer so that if you accidentally reset your itouch or do something like that, then you just hook it up to itunes and get your stuff back. Hope this helps!
