To be a detective like her, you must be able to solve simple mysteries, like were you put your keys. Nancy Drew is only an amateur detective. She does not really want to be a professional detective. Mysteries to her are a hobby. She would help Chief Mcginnis, who is in charge at the River Heights Police Station, solve mysteries. To be a amateur detective like Nancy, get involved with some of your community mysteries. There is no problem in asking the police if they would need any help on cases. Well, you must be a professional detective to do FBI cases, but simple ones like community ones are not illegal to help out with. It also helps if your father or mother is a lawyer or is into crime fighting. Nancy's father was a well known lawyer, so she helped him with his cases. That is basically how you start out as a detective.

And if you want, theirs a Hardy Boys Detective handbook that tells all about different tecnicks for surveilance and finger prints and undercover work and so on.
