How do you beat the red birds on Astro Knights Island?

Pick up the Laser Lance from the jungle floor, and go right to fight the Phoenix Birds on the unicorn Pegasus.

Your ordinary shots will take out the "bee" birds. But you can fire a more powerful shot by holding down the mouse button to charge the Lance, then release to fire. These shots can take out the "torpedo" birds as well as the Mother Phoenix.

When you see the mother bird, you have to shoot her three times, in the head. You cannot shoot when she comes behind you on the left.

On the Jungle Planet, you fly on the winged unicorn Pegasus and use the Laser Lance against the Phoenix birds. The lance fires short bursts against the "bees", but can be charged up for a more powerful shot by holding and releasing your mouse button.

The more powerful shot will destroy the red "torpedo" birds, and three shots to the head will defeat the Mother Phoenix.
