How do you beat the river styx on mythology island in poptropica?

The "sea monster" is the Hydra. It has five heads that try to strike you. When it tries, jump up before it hits you, and land on its head. You have to do that to all five of the heads to defeat it. Then you can get its scale.

(TIP: Don't take long! The heads will start to wake up again if you take too long.)

The Hydra is not swayed by music and has to be knocked out.

Climb up and approach the beast and it will try to strike you with one of its five heads. Before it hits you, jump up so that when you come back down, you land on top of the head, knocking it out. Repeat the process with the other four heads, and do not give the heads any time to recover. When all five are down, cross over and get a scale.

You battle the five-headed Hydra in the "gnarly monster" cave within the underwater realm of Poseidon. The Hydra will try to strike you by thrusting out one of its heads. When it does, you must be ready to jump before it does, then land on top of the head, knocking it out. Repeat this for all five heads, then swim below to get a scale from the defeated monster.

* Move to the left of the boat when that rock thing drops from above.

* Jump when the crocodile snaps at you.

* Then duck when the skull comes.

-- The things above will come in a pattern. Just keep on doing those in order.

-- I had trouble with the crocodile part, but you just jump right before he comes and tries to bite you.
