How do you beat vexen in Chain of Memories?

To beat Vexen you must break his shield first, and then go into final form. Have Bond of Flames for final. Then have firaga in shortcut and spam it. He is weak to fire just like Demyx. Once he gets down to low health, he will start his DM. (Chunks of Ice form around him and ram into you) Use Donald's Comet; it will give you invincibility. Now, smack his shield, while your MP is recharging. After his desperation move, use a Mega Potion and Ether and go into Final Form. Continue to spam Firaga. He should be dead after a couple of the Firagas.

get alot of fire magic cards, right before he trys to freeze you Dodge roll out of the way if its in Twilight Town when he does Ice Blade glide to avoid the first two hits but the last hit you can't dodge!

1st battle: Vexen should be little problem. The easiest way to beat him is to spam Fire attacks like Firagra or Fire Raid to deal heavy damage to him.In the event of him using his sleight "Freeze", run or Dodge Roll when you hear the sound of freezing ice. Normal keyblade attacks don't work up front (literally) due to his shield so if possible, use Metal Choboco, Spellbinder or Lionheart.

2nd Battle: His sleights, Iceburn, Ice Needles and Freeze can be a pain if combined. Iceburn freezes the ground, making it slippery for Sora and rendering him vulnerable to all attacks. DO what you did for the 1st battle, but try to prevent him from using Iceburn or Ice Needles, which homes in on you to deal some damage.Use "Dispel" (Parasite Cage enemy card) to get rid of his Auto-Life card effect to avoid too troublesome a battle.

There are many not-so-nice things I can say about Vexen. One thing you can do is make sure you level up because he is a hard boss if you are underleveled. and you SPAM him with fire. Load your deck with a lot of fire cards and he should go down.
