First thing you have to do is to take the ASVAB and get the appropriate line scores to qualify. Upon doing that you need to talk to your recruiter about getting a garunteed job assignment into the Medical Corps. Then there is BCT and 68W10 AIT that you have to successfully complete . . . and then they award you with your MOS and regimental membership.
To be an enlisted soldier in the medical field, such as a Combat Medic, you don't need a degree. To be an actual doctor, you'd need the same degree as a civilian doctor.
The US Marines don't have a medical corps, hence, they don't have combat medics. Navy corpsmen are assigned to Marine units to provide that function to Marine units.

Marine Force Corpsman is a medic only for marines. Nothing different than a regular medic in the army. Except the fact that in reality there are no medics in the marines. the marines have nothing to do with healthcare at all. they are a fighting force and that is it. corpsman for the marines are navy corpsman who are enlisted in the navy who are stationed with a marine unit. to become a corpsman you do need at least a two year nursing degree.
