You have to go through the boy scout trail. First you have to complete the basic ranks: scout, tenderfoot, second class, and first class. These ranks prepare you in the outdoors and teach you basic scout skills and knolage. Then you go to the advanced ranks. Star and life. In these ranks you take on leadership roles and earn merit badges that prepare you to become and eagle and function as a citizen of society. The rank after life is Eagle. To become an Ealge Scout you must complete 21 merit badges. 13 of which are eagle required. The others are your choice. You must maintain different leadership positions including Senior Patrol Leader, you must plan and lead a community service project approved by the eagle board. And finally, you must go through a board of review with the eagle board and they dean you ready or not. If you pass, you are an eagle scout and you are eligible to have your ceremony where you will be presented the award.
