The YOUNGEST Eagle Scout of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines is Eagle Scout Generoso Ignacio S. Jacinto of Ateneo De Manila University. He took the Board of Review on December 2009 and earned the rank on February 2010. He was just 13 years old. The rank is usually earned in a Scout's 4th Year in High School. He earned the rank in Grade 7
Can you become and Eagle Scout in four years?
Yes. You can work on Tenderfoot, Second Class and First Class requirements at the same time and there is no requirement for a specific period of time served. A common goal is to have new scouts earn First Class within a year but technically you could do it within weeks. Star scout then requires at least 4 months, Life Scout 6 months and and Eagle scout 6 months. So it is highly unlikely to actually occur, but it is technically possible to earn Eagle within a year and a half.
How many Americans are eagle scouts?
The Eagle Scout rank has been earned by about 2 million Americans since the first was awarded in 1912. When the 1 millionth was awarded in 1982 about 25,000 scouts per year were earning it. Recently about 40-50,000 scouts per year have been earning it.

There are many advantages to earning the Eagle Scout rank including the skills learned, the leadership learned, and the general demonstration to yourself and everyrone else that you can commit to a long term extraordinarily difficult task and get it doneThe main advantage to being an Eagle Scout, other than that you possess all of the above, is that people generally understand that it is a great achievement accomplished by very few. I can think of nothing esle that can be accomplished before the age of 18 that will still be listed and discussed into adulthood. You will never see "captain of the HS football team" on the resume of a 50 year old man applying to be CEO of a large corporation but if he is an Eagle Scout it will be there, it will be noted, and it will often be the difference between that guy and all the others with similar education and experience.

But male Venturers who earned First Class in a troop can continue to work towards Eagle Scout while in a crew. There were a total of 238,846 Venturers, but we don't know how many were eligible, but the percentage goes down. As of 2008 (the last year I have totals), there had been 83,486,083 Scouts since 1911 and 1,880,905 Scouts had earned Eagle Scout, making it 2.2% for the total.
How long does an eagle scout application usually take?
There is not a set "length" of time for earning the Eagle Scout Rank. The Eagle Trail, as it is often referred to, begins with joining scouts. The first three ranks earned are Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class. Scouting encourages Scout units to provide a program that allows Scouts to earn these ranks in their first year of Scouting. Keep in mind that the Scout must do the work and become proficient in the required skills. It is doable in a year but may take longer. In order to continue to advance in rank, a Scout must then start to earn Merit Badges, provide Community Service, Leadership within his Troop, and continue to demonstrate conduct consistent with the Scout Oath and Law. The next ranks do require a minimum time in rank to advance. Star Scout - 4 months, Life Scout - 6 months, and Eagle - 6 months.
