Hello! I have been begging for an animal for years! The answer to this is to simply be creative. You need to come up with neat ideas to surprise your parents and help them to realize what you need. Create a poster showing ways that a cat would fit your lifestyle, write a persuasive essay on how cats can be helpful kind and productive, or even create a fun Microsoft power point! I used all of these tricks in attempt to attain my bond with my feline, but nothing worked so much as being persistent-without being rude.

Remember that parents have their reasons behind holding you back and fighting against this should never be the solution. Instead, find compromises which work through all your disagreements. If the thing that your parents are most concerned over is the vet bills, then make sure that they are aware the cat is so much less likely to fall sick if it is an indoor animal. Also, it helps to agree that if the cat falls sick with cancer, you will not be paying for chemo and instead let nature take its cause (don't worry they will end up bonding with your animal too). Someday it will eventually happen, but before it does try and persist- without becoming annoying.
