Usually depends on what it is. For one thing, you have to be a good child, another is, can they afford it. Parents will usually try to get their children what they desire and sometimes even go into debt to get it, but if it is too expensive or just frivolous (not really needed or functional) then to go into debt would be foolish. ∙ 14y agoIf you want something, it depends on how much it is. If its like a Nintendo DS, you have to work really hard for it because money doesn't grow on trees. With today's economy, you can't get what you want. You can sell cookies or anything else that will help you earn money. One time I had a lemonade stand form 8AM-4PM during our garage sale and I earned $71.00 right off some wimpy lemonade that you can buy a big pack for like$4.00. You can also help around the house, but don't ask for money because whats the difference your still asking your parents for their money I get 400.00 every birthday so i can wait and buy what i want
