bleeding brakes is the same on all vehicles that use a hydraulic master cylinder: **you will need two people to bleed your brakes - 1. ensure master cylinder is full of brake fluid. 2. begin with the wheel closest to the master cylinder(start with front left, then front right, then rear left, and finally rear right). 3. have 1 person sit in drivers seat, engine and ignition off, pump brake pedal 3 to 4 times and then hold brake pedal down. 4. while brake pedal is being held down, person #2 gets under the vehicle at the first wheel and turns the bleed screw slightly until air and/or fluid escapes. 5. repeat steps 3 and 4 until a steady stream of FLUID ONLY comes out of the bleed screw. 6. do this to all wheels in the order mentioned above, and make sure to periodically check the fluid level in the master cylinder to make sure it does not fall below the minimum level!

Sounds like you got air in the lines so you would have to bleed the brakes. Just saying that they suck doesn't explain much so I went for the bleed the brakes but if it was explained just what is going on with them maybe then it could be pin pointed.
