Heat is good. A MAPP or an oxyacetylene torch can be used. Just make sure you're not getting heat on anything that can take damage.
adjustment is not needed. they will auto adjust on their own. if you have a rear break issue, then it is time to replace them, or have them inspected

Drum will come right off. They get rusty. Use WD-40 at the center part of the drum between the lug bolts being careful not to get any on the shoes and inside of the drum, a few bangs with a rubber mallot wouldn't hurt then use a pry-bar like a tire tool or really big screwdriver but try not break anything.
