I had that same problem with my 88 town car! Its either an almost dead battery, alternator, or sensor. This warning is normal to come on when car is turned to "on" position, but not started. if this is occurring when the car is running, it is one of the above problems. PS, i believe you meant CHARGE SYSTEM
if ur check engine comes on and goes off its most likely ur catlytic converter or o2 sensors i just got those replaced on my 88 town car
To bypass the factory amplifier on a 1988 Lincoln Town Car, you'll need to locate the amp, which is typically found in the trunk. Disconnect the wiring harness from the factory amp and connect the speaker wires directly to the head unit's output. Ensure you properly match the wires to avoid any damage, and consider using a wiring diagram for accuracy. Finally, secure all connections and test the sound output to confirm the bypass was successful.
To disable the seat belt warning system; you must follow the procedure listed under safety restraints. It is on page 88-91 in my manual and involves a whole list of things you have to do while the ignition system is turned to the on position but without the car running.
