Yep, that's why they call it the engine cradle.
It is called the engine cradle, 4 main bolts hold the cradle to the sub-frame. An easy way to pull an engine is to drop the cradle to the ground, AFTER unhooking ALL the wiring and hoses. This should not be attempted by a nonprofessional.
An engine cradle is used to securely support and transport an engine during maintenance or installation. To use it, first ensure the cradle is positioned correctly under the engine, aligning it with the engine mounting points. Then, attach the engine using bolts or straps to secure it in place. Finally, you can lift or move the engine using a hoist or other lifting equipment as needed.

The engine support cradle is usually what fails
To change the engine cradle on a 1997 Saturn SL, start by safely lifting the vehicle and securing it with jack stands. Disconnect the battery, then remove the necessary components such as the exhaust, transmission mounts, and suspension parts that may obstruct access to the cradle. Unbolt the engine cradle from the vehicle's frame, carefully lower it, and replace it with the new cradle. Reassemble all removed components and ensure everything is securely fastened before lowering the vehicle back to the ground.
The engine, transmission, and suspension cradle are dropped out the bottom at the same time.
You'll need to remove the upper engine mount (dogbone). Then, with ajack under the rear of the cradle, you can unbolt the tworear cradle bolts (18mm) and lower the cradle down to get access to the front of the engine. From there it is simply unbolting the two bolts that hold the coolant crossover pipe and removing the hoses.
The engine, trans, and suspension cradle are lowered out of the bottom as an unit.
you don't need to raise the car off the engine cradle at all to change the clutch. i did the whole thing in my driveway
through the bottom with the rest of the engine cradle
