Ground the green wire on the harness.
Just ground the wire.
The parking brake interlock on video players in cars is an important safety feature and should not be disabled.
Its very simple to bypass the parking brake on Kenwoods. All the parking brake wire is is a ground wire. So, all you need to do is take the parking brake wire and either ground it or join it to the ground wire on the harness by soldering or whatever you wanna do.
Pull the E-Brake up one click and the lights should turn off.
There should be a wire that should be grounded into the E-brake wiring. Ground that wire and it will think the E-Brake is on. You can also update The NavMate software. go to HorizonNav Dot Com web site. Free Nav software update and 2010 maps. The new maps have Text to Speech and 11 million POI's
So far (Nov. 2009) Dual has not released the permanent code for the 9101. The only thing you can do right now it the e-brake or a toggle switch. Happy motoring.
ON MOST KENWOOD CD PLAYERS YOU CAN ENTER THE CODE WITH THE REMOTE USING THE NUMBERS LIKE A TELEPHONE 2 IS FOR A,B,C 3 IS FOR D,E,F ETC. THERE IS A UNIVERSAL KENWOOD CODE THAT IS "KCAR"
Turn off engine. Depress Emergency Brake. Turn on engine. The lights will not turn on until the E-Brake is released. Get in the habit of setting the E-Brake and you will have less of an issue with the auto headlights. I don't think there is an easy way to bypass the auto headlights entirely. The headlight switch is essentially, "just for show."

Could be,E-Brake slightly applied, Sticky E-Brake cables, E-Brake out of adjustment, Brake fluid reservoir low, Brake system in need of maintenance,
Electronic brake. Like the hand brake which has a physical cable that you pull tight, the e-brake locks the rear wheels.
I own a 2006 Mazda Tribute I. I am not a mechanic but I recently adjusted my E-brake, and this what I discovered... The E-brake adjustment nut is located under the E-brake leather cover (directly to the left of the E-brake lever). You have to remove the E-brake cover and tighthen the bolt to the proper adjustment.
