How do you bypass the anti-theft modulator and 1994 Ford Explorer xlt?

my daughter has a 1994 Ford Explorer and every so often it will not start we were told it's because the radio was hooked up to the anti theft devise which causes it not to start sometimes. How do we bypass this to get her truck to start?
