I don't have an OnStar system, but I believe it should. Most GPS devices leave what's callled breadcrumbs (trails of where the vehicle has been). Now it all depends on how large of a record the OnStar system retains.
press the bottom and there you go
The word "milestone" does not have a scientific connotation.
A compass magnet or a compass needle.
The compass needle.
To calibrate compass you need to drive two full 360 degrees turns and this will calibrate your compass. If the calibration is not successfully completed, then you have to go to dealer to install a magnetic plate to help calibration
They do not have them. You Have to buy the mirror componet.
Your automatic dimming rear view mirror may not be working as well. If so, you have a blown fuse. A 5 amp fuse I believe.
Either on the rear view mirror, on right by the radio
Equipped with ONSTAR
In most cases you press the reset button on the compass and then drive in circles (in a parking lot) while it calibrates.
Yes, you can. Most mirrors with compasses in them are made by aftermarket manufacturers; even the OEM mirrors found in modern vehicles. In fact, OEM style compass mirrors can be found for as low as $10.00 + shipping from eBay making them more affordable than universal mirror replacements from brick and mortar parts stores. There are a couple of things to keep in mind before you upgrade. First, the mirror must mount to the vehicle in the same way that the current mirror mounts. GM installed compass mirrors in S-10s as far back as the early 1990's so this should not be a difficult task. Second, you will have to wire the compass to the ignition "On" switch. If you wire the compass to the map light it will put a continuous drain on the battery. Aftermarket mirrors (i.e., Gentex) are provided with wiring kits. However, if a OEM mirror is purchased it might not have the wiring harness with it. If an OEM mirror is purchased and your vehicle did not come with a compass mirror be sure to get the plug, pigtail or harness from the donor vehicle. Also modern rear-view mirrors have additional functionality above and beyond the compass feature and it is a good idea to decide what features you like. Some examples of features include map lights (these work well in convertibles), temperature (must purchase additional thermal sensor), Home-link (garage door opener) and OnStar (this function will not be used in a non-OnStar vehicle).
What fuse controls the mirror and compass and temperature in a 2003 Chevy tahoe
I would imagine you are trying to set the on board compass, these require to circle on full lock whilst they self calibrate.
The on/off button on the mirror controls functions such as automatic dimming and temperature display. It is the far left button located on the lower part of the mirror face. Press the on/off button to change the temperature display. You can select °F, °C, or turn the display off. = Automatic Dimming Rearview Mirror with Compass and Temperature Display (without OnStar®) = The TEMP button located on the bottom of the mirror face changes the temperature display. You can select °F, °C, or turn the display off.
Small magnets are rotated to "null out" local magnet fields so the compass will accurately align to magnetic North.
There's actually an on/off button for the temp/compass display on the mirror. It is the button located on the left front of the mirror itself. Push this and the display should turn on.
