Equipped with ONSTAR
If it is the same as the green light on my Dodge Durango rearview mirror, it dims the amount of light being reflected off of the mirror from lights behind you. You can turn the dim feature off (indicated by the green light being off) with a button on the rearview mirror.
i have the same exact problem
It is the L.E.D light for the factory alarm.
You have automatic rain sensing wipers and this is the sensor for the rain. If you turn the wipers all the way off or on, the light goes out.
An electrochromic mirror uses sensors that change the light sensitivity on rear view mirrors. This is basically an auto dimming sensor that helps with headlights following you. When bright lights hit the mirror, it dims the lights so they do not blind you while looking in the rear view mirror.
That would be the rain sensor. Not exactly sure how it works but if you take the wipers off of auto the light should go off.
An electrochromic rearview mirror is installed on higher end vehicles. It consists of two lenses that sandwich an electrochromic (electronic color changing) gel. This gel, when charged with electricity, darkens. The mirror uses a forward sensor which measures the outside ambient light, and a rearward sensor to look for glare. When dark enough, it sends current to the electrostatic gel, darkening it a rate which is related to the level of ambient darkness and rearward glare. When the outside ambient light increases, the current decreases, until the gel is clear again at daylight light levels. The inside sides of the lenses are coated with a transparent, conductive layer, and the deepest lens has a reflective (mirror) coating. There is no tab to pivot the mirror. No, there is no light on the mirror.
The light reflects on the mirror
pull up to face your garage door hold the mirror button in and the garage door opener in until the red light on the mirror turns green. viola
Because a mirror reflects light.
Light is reflected of metal when it is polished and flat because it is very light and lighter colors reflect light whereas darker colors such as green suck the colors in.
