That would be the rain sensor. Not exactly sure how it works but if you take the wipers off of auto the light should go off.
The temperature sensor is usually located on the front windshield of the car, in front of the rearview mirror
Water can get in when the firewall flashing is missing outside under the windshield cowling. The water gets into the heater/defroster system and then drains on to the floor.
Did you try moving the wipers arms a notch or two so when they start they are not at the bottom of the windshield but rather an inch or so above the bottom edge of the windshield to make them sweep farther to the outside?
I THE WINDSHIELD
There's a wire in the windshield where the wipers rest that heats up like a rear window defroster. It comes on automaticly when the outside temp drops below 40deg.
They are usually located in the cowl----the slotted area right below the outside of the windshield.
If you look through the windshield from OUTSIDE on the DRIVERS SIDE you will see the VIN plate near the base of the windshield on top of the dash
it is located at the bottom of the windshield outside the car on the passanger side of car. lift the hood and take off the black moulding that is there and you will see the ac filter looks like your air breather
