What do you need for a tune up for a Lincoln ls 2000?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Modern vehicles cannot be 'tuned up.' Th term tune up refers to how vintage vehicles needed their timing and ignitions adjusted. Modern EFI vehicles are computer controlled and no longer require such services. However the term of 'tune-up' is still used deceptively by some shops. That being said a 2002 Lincoln does require services such as coolant, engine oil, transmission, brake fluid, and power steering fluid changes. Changing these fluids are critical to long service life. Furthermore, the Lincoln does have spark plugs and ignition wires that are specified to be changed at certain mileage intervals. Often modern spark plugs are specified to last 100,000 miles. Other services recommended are the changing of belts, hoses, engine & cabin air filters, PCV valves, and fuel filters. In modern terms the servicing and replacing of these components can regard today's version of a tune-up.

How do you program garage door opener in Lincoln town car 2004?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Not sure if it's the same as the 1996 Jeep, but here are it's instructions.

It's pretty easy. To help clarify I'm going to number the buttons 1, 2, and 3 where 1 is the button on the outside, close to the door, and 3 is the button on the inside.

Setting a button:

1.) Hold down the desired button and the LED will start to flash slowly (if it is solid this means that it has already been programmed and you must do a reset to program or select a different button).

2.) Continue to hold the desired button and then hold the garage door opener close to the visor and hold down it's button. You know the visor is programmed when it changes from a slow flash to a fast one.

3.) Release the buttons and test it out.

*** For rolling code garage door openers follow additional steps below***

After you have trained the jeep remote as stated above, you will notice pressing the button you have programed does nothing if you have a rolling code garage door opener.

4.) Press the learn button on your garage door opener (usually only have 30 seconds) and run back to the car and hold the button you programed for 2 seconds and then release. Now, repeat the "press/hold/release" sequence a second time, and, depending on the brand of the garage door opener (or other rolling code equipped device), repeat this sequence a third time to complete the programming.

Resetting the visor controls:

1.) Hold down buttons 1 and 3, for about 15 seconds, until the red LED starts to flash. Remember that this will reset all 3 buttons.

Hope this helps.

How do you change the spark plugs on a 2000 Lincoln Continental?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

To change the spark plugs on a 2000 Kia Sephia, at least in a 1.8L version, first disconnect the battery, then, remove the black plastic cover on top of the motor. There should be 6 Phillips-head screws holding it down. After removing the plastic cover, you will see two rubber covers for the spark plug wires on each side, and two gel-looking insuated tubs attached to more wires in the middle. To remove two of the spark plugs, you must carefully pull the rubber covers upward. They clip onto the spark plugs so you will need to use careful force to pull them out. Once you have them pulled out, you can look in and see the plug. It requires a 5/8 spark plug socket with an adapter to reach in. Make sure you push the socket on hard enough so that it clips onto the spark plug, other wise it will fall over and you wont be able to get it out without a LOT more work. Finish that plug by plugging the rubber covered spark plug wire back onto the spark plug, covering the hole. You can do the same thing for the plug on the opposite side.

For the two in the middle, you need to first unbolt and remove the insulated boxes that cover the spark plug holes (you can unplug the white connectors but make sure you plug them back in when you are done). Then all you have to do is do the same thing you did with the two outer ones to replace the plugs. Perform this one plug at a time, and make sure you cover the holes with a cloth or paper towel if you leave them open for any period of time. When you finish, make sure all the wires are connected, then reconnect the battery.

How do you replace the fuel pump located on a Lincoln Ls?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I changed the fuel pump on my 2000 LS a few years ago. The system is kinda odd. The actual electric fuel pump is in the tank on the right side. The tank is directly below the rear seat. If you remove the seat bottom you will find a 6 inch or so cover. Under the cover there is a plastic, threaded collar that locks the fuel pump into the tank. The driver's side also has a pump, but it works only my venturi effect from the electric pump on the other side. This pump is used to equalize the fuel level from left to right. The drive shaft tunnel prevents all but the very top of the tank from communicating left to right. Also, I would go with a factory pump. It comes with the whole pump, connectors, filter, Pickup, etc. I tried a parts house pump at first. It was only $50 less and only came with the motor. I would have had to splice wires and wire tie the thing in place. MIKE P.S. Do Not trust your "miles to empty" on the dash until you run a tank or two through the car. I ran out of gas with 46 miles to empty.

Where can you find the abstraction control module on a 2000 Lincoln LS?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The acronym is not abstraction control module. It is ABS/Traction Control Module.

In other words, the ABS Module is also the Traction Control Module. The same module performs both functions, that is, ABS or Anti-Lock Brakes, and it performs Traction Control functions as well.

In "shop-speak" however, even tough the module has both functions built in, we usually do not call it an ABS/Traction Control Module. We simply call it an ABS Module. That is probably why you have been unsuccessful in getting info on it. When you refer to it as an abstraction control module, you will just get a blank stare. Nobody will know what you mean. You are really looking for the ABS Module.

The module you are looking for is located on the passenger's side of the car, down low in the engine compartment. You may be more able to see it from the underside of the vehicle, once the lower plastic shield is removed. It will be rather large, about 4 inches by 4 inches square, mounted to a metal bracket, and have several brake fluid lines going into it, and a large 1 inch by 3 inch electrical connector plugged into it.

Can you swap a B20 in a 91 integra LS with stock transmission?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Yes. The 91 ls came with a b18 and that engine shares it's block with the b20. The new engine will drop in, but you will have to swap out some of the parts off of your old engine such as intake manifold, distributer, fuel rail, etc. The only modification you will need will be to extend the temp sensor wires to reach the new location by the thermostat housing as your old sensor is on the rear of the block. You can use your old motor mounts, transmission, harness, belt etc. on the new engine, and any bolt on modifications for the original engine will fit the b20 as well. The transmission bolts right up with no problems.
