How do you camels stop the desert sand from getting in their mouth?

A camel is able to shut his nose whenever it wants but not for to long so as soon as it shuts its nose it will run until it has found a safe place, camels have to be quick as they need to breathe eventually.

∙ 13y agoYes, camels seal off their nostrils to keep out sand. What they do is take a medium size zipper (which they find in their humps) and seal up their large nostrils. Some camels did die because they breathed out of their zipped nostrils. Some camels were smart and breathed out of their mouths.
