Chrysanthemum plants need lots of water, at least 8 hours of sun, and a liquid fertilizer once per week. Pinching can be done early in the spring if you want a bushier plant. Stop fertilizing after the flower buds start showing color. Cut it to the ground in early winter and mulch heavily.
