You should always be careful and take your cat to the vet, but if money is your issue then I suggest finding out the cause of why your cat's paw is swollen.
I looked online and it had a lot of reasons and the number one (that also applied to my cat) was a possible bug bite or bee sting. Usually the swelling will subside within a day or so if it was stung by a bee. Spiders/scorpions bites usually cause irritation around or on the pad of cat's paws. [Cat's bat at bugs so more than likely, if it's an outside cat, this is the case.]
There's also other reasons, I suggest going here: http://www.luvmycritters.com/Cat-Health-Swollen-Paw.html
She washes them. She feeds them. Sometimes, she hits them with her paw when they are bad.
If the paw has been injured, bruised, or cut recently, it might be swollen. Otherwise it probably just means that one paw is bigger than the other. Nothing to be worried about.
The duration of The Cat's-Paw is 1.7 hours.
there may be a thorn or sliver in her paw, check it over for bleeding and try to find the source, if it continues then take it to the vet, it may be infected.
