After catching 202 Pokemon on the Pokedex Prof Birch will call on your Pokenav. He will say he has a surprise. Go in his lab there will be May too. He will tell you he has some Pokemon for you. (You have to catch all 202 Pokemon except for Deoxys and Jirachi which is unobtainable without trading or cheating or an event item) Cyndaquil- Fire Chikorita- Grass Totodile- Water
you must get all of the Pokemon in the hoenn region except deoxis and jirachi registerd on the pokedex and then talk to prof birch and he will give you the choice of 1 of three more starter Pokemon including cyndaquil
