You have to look for the big shadows in the pools of water. The bigger the shadow, the bigger the fish. But don't get your hopes up when you do see a big shadow. If you do not pull the reel in quick enough, you will not catch the fish.

There is a difference between big fish and rare fish. Not all big fish are worth a lot of money. Sea Bass is a very common big fish and is only worth 160 bells. A big fish such as the Stringfish is worth 15,000 bells and is very rare. The more rare the fish is, the harder it is the catch.

Go to Tom Nooks store and buy a fishing pole. Then go to a river or the ocean shore put on your fishing pole, then cast it using the A button. (you have to be near a fish, which is a dark blue spot in the water) wait until the bobber goes under the water you should hear a kind of BLOOP! sound too. then press A rapidly. You usually catch it but sometimes it doesnt work. Good Luck

It's simple. Just drop the fishing rod into the water and wait. If the fish nibbles at it then wait a bit more and when it starts to circle the bate you need to pull in out by clicking on the player or pressing A
