How do you catch mew in Pokemon Rangers?

Capturing Mew is actually quite hard, but have faith in yourself and you'll get it!

So, once in Summerland, Cameron will talk to you about spotting Mew. However, Percy will reject saying anything about seeing Mew because people were talking behind his back. If anything, this should give you a hint about the location of Mew. You guessed it, the rain forest!

So any ways, go through the opening scenario with Percy, and suddenly Mew appears!

You must follow it. Now, if you remember the Aqua Mole Mission, you go through the place filled with bug Pokemon.

Meganium isn't on your Browser. Go over to the second corner at the bottom of the area, before you walk upward. Meganium's there!

Okay, if/after capturing Meganium go up. Ta Daa, the wonderful and mysterious mirage, Mew!

Okay, as a precaution, catch Ariados, Silcoon, Ariados and Beautifly. Use the Ariados's Poke Power to ensure capture. However, you can't use just that.

USE PLUSLE/MINUN POWER UP FIRST!!!

Now, I know I did not capture Mew first try. continue moving up and that will be your second chance for Mew capture. Isolation is key, there'll be more bug Pokemon there!

If you fail that also, leave the area and go to the pond area. MEW! IS! THERE!

Now now, no crying if you fail that as well. The pattern I just told you about will be repeated.

Get to the part where Mew is at the pond, and get Mew near a Pokemon and go after that one, then, capture that Pokemon. Before you do this, go all the way up to the relic and capture Shedinja, a ghost Pokemon. You have about 10-15 seconds to make the circles. The capture of Mew will be complete. Hope this helps :) It worked super well for me, and I did it by accident.
