When you replace the timing belt (every 70,000K).
On the earlier 850s, maybe all of them, every 50000 miles. Don't neglect because the 850 has an interference engine so if you break a timing belt you will lose the engine.
On the passenger side, just under the timing belt.
The Volvo 850 does not have a non-interference engine. This means that if the timing belt breaks, then serious internal engine damage will inevitably occur.
This sounds like what happens when your timing belt breaks.
yes it will ,its an interference engine meaning that pistons will hit valves bending them.to cure this problem is to either purchase a set of new valves or you can buy a new engine or you can avoid this by just simply have the timing belt change good luck peace.
it is locate it. next to your timing belt.if you see your serpentine belt you will see a black plastic cover.next to your thermostat on top of your engine.
