On the passenger side, Remove the headlight cover by flipping the latch. Disconnect the main electric harness. Disconnect the wire harness to the light bulb, you can pull on it. At the top of the bulb you can slide the latch and open it, be careful as the latch will pop out, the bulb should pop out.
The driver side is a bit more tricky as there is less room to get your hand inside the headlight assy, just take your time and you can get the bulb out.
I loosened the 2 top bolts that hold the headlight assembly to have a little play as I installed the new bulb. It's recommended you do not touch the bulb with your bare fingers. You can use thin surgical gloves or just be careful not to touch the bulb. Put in the bulb, make sure it goes into the slot, by looking thru the headlight. Relatch the clip. I used a mirror and flash lite to see what I was doing. Once you set the clip then install the wire connector. Be sure to test the lights before putting the caps back on and install the mount bolts on the headlight assy and there u go!

I just replaced the low beam headlight on my 2006 325i, following the instructions on pages 118-119 in the owner's manual. There is an access panel in the wheelwell. It is removed by turning two round buttons. Underneath there is a cover on the back of the light assembly that snaps off. You then pull the connector off the back of the H7 bulb and push the top of the wire retainer to the right to release the bulb. Replace it the same way. Small hands help.
