If it's inline, then you follow the fuel line coming from the tank until you see the pump. If its 'in tank' you have to drop the fuel tank, then get to it from the top of the tank. You simply unscrew the pump, unhook everything, then put your new pump in. It's a long job, but a simple one.

I think your car has fuel injection and the fuel pump isn't working. Listen at the fuel filler and when you turn the ignition on the pump should run for 2 seconds. If not check the relay first then the pump. They are known for bad fuel pumps.
