this is fairly simple. first locate the battery. then using key wrenches eithe 10, 11, 12, 13mm, (usually 10mm) to losen the terminals. disconnect the negative terminal first then positive. remove the battery and replace with new battery. reconnect the the terminals starting positive first the the negative. tighten the the terminals with key wrench (tighten enough so that the terminals arnt lose). and your good to go.
Charge your battery or tighten the battery cables.

un bolt it from the back side and take the plugs out, might have to take the carpet or plastic pieces in trunk out to access it, ive never done it on a subaru but i have on every other kind of car

Not always. The changeover year was beginning of 1994 to the BG series. It's highly possible they are quite different.
