How do you change the battery in mazda 5 key?
Changing a Mazda 2 battery in the key fob is quite simple. You will need to use a flat head screwdriver to pry open the fob. You will then take the battery out with the screwdriver and replace it.
Read the owners manual that came with the car. Key battery replacement details are in there.
The fob must be gently pried apart, the electronics unit removed, the battery replaced, the electronics unit reinstalled, and the fob snapped back together. Your owner's manual should tell you how, if not ask your dealer.
yes. your local Mazda dealer can program them for you. if they say it cant be done; theyre lieing to get you to pay for another key fob. the systems are the same the key fob may "look" different.

open the lid and change it.
First, one needs to press the button on the key fob to release the key and flip the fob open. A small tab will then be visible. Push the tab in and the the key assembly should easily slide out. The user should then take the half without the key and open it with a regular flathead screwdriver. It takes one 1620 battery.
Take all keys to dealership service dept.
have to replace from the dealer, because of the anti-theft system. Not True. I have a 2002 Mazda Millenia with anti-theft alarm factory installed. I simply ordered a key fob on line for about $30. bucks and it came with the instructions for how to program it. The dealer told me only THEY could do it ... at a cost of about $160.00! Wow big difference. My cheap key fob works GREAT!
