Take the trans out, the clutch is inside the trans ^_^
You have a hydraulic clutch in your mr2, no cable.
how to fix speedometer for Toyota mr2
My buddy works at Toyota Direct in Columbus, Oh and he said they would charge for about 10 hours of Labor.
The clutch is hydrolic and should adjust automaticly unless there is a leak or air in the line. there is really no way of adjusting it manually
Pictures and instructions are found here: http://www.padandwheels.com/mr2/thermostat/thermostat.html
The Toyota mr2
You may have a hydrolic clutch. One that takes fluid to make it work, check your clutch fluid.
The Toyota MR2 factory recommendations say to change the belt at 90,000 miles. If the belt runs past its use and the belt can snap leading to complete engine failure.
Does it go into gear with the engine off? If so, I'd be suspicious of the clutch adjustment.
Toyota wasn't making enough $$$
No factory roll bars were installed in any generation of MR2
