Locate and remove old coolant temperature sensor (disconnect electric connector and you should be able to loosen sensor with an open end wrench; if it's too tight, use a flared end wrench to break it loose).
Catch coolant that spills out after sensor is removed, properly dispose of old coolant.
Install new sensor in reverse order.
Top off coolant.
Clear trouble code & test drive vehicle to ensure vehicle performs to spec.
Driver side behind alternator. You must remove alternator to change it
p0128-- coolant temperature below thermotat regulating temperature---change thermostat first, and make sure coolant is ok!! then if it does not work. change coolant temperature sensor.
this is normal, because the coolant temp sensor is supposed to be in direct contact with the cooling fluid in order to read its temperature
Which sending unit? Oil or temperature? Or ?????
Likely a faulty coolant temperature sensor. Change the sensor.
a bad coil or plug to be safe change both
It is often useful as a coolant because it can absorb thermal energy without a large change in temperature.
The guage on the dash uses the ONE wire sensor... This is located in the block near the drivers side. Eric First check to see if you have coolant in the radiator. If there is no coolant you will not get any reading from the temperature sensor. If there is coolant then change the temperature sensor.
probably means u need to change the coolant for the car, leaking coolant sumwhere
Every five years or 100K miles.
They have excellent chemical high resistance. They also have better resistance to temperature changes.
It can be done.
